Britani holds a Ph.D. from the School of Social Work at the University of South Florida. She currently serves as an adjunct instructor for social work courses at USF and operates a private practice specializing in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy for trauma survivors. Her research is shaped by her clinical work as a trauma therapist, her involvement with the STAR Lab, and her role as a Graduate Research Assistant in the McCrae Sleep Lab. Britani’s research interests encompass the examination and optimization of evidence-based treatments for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma exposure, with a particular emphasis on interventions targeting sleep disturbances and their role in trauma recovery. Her dissertation research specifically investigated public stigma toward adult survivors of adverse childhood experiences.
