About

Dr. Miller is a sociologist that uses an epidemiology approach to investigate the social determinants of health. His research examines how psychosocial factors like mastery, discrimination, and social support impact health disparities. Dr. Miller’s primary research interests examine the impact of interracial romance on mental health, and his current projects are investigating contemporary definitions of race and the effects of interracial romance on college-aged persons. Dr. Miller received a Ph.D. in Sociology with a focus on Mental Health and minor concentration in Social Stratification from Florida State University, as well as a Master’s in Teaching Secondary Social Science from the University of South Florida.
