My career as a librarian has had many twists and turns. I have been at the USF Tampa Library since 1997 in a variety of roles, from government documents to reference to serials. In 2016, I moved into an administrative role as the director of Digital Scholarship Services (DSS), a new department which included scholarly communications, digitization, GIS, and copyright issues. From there I moved into positions as Assistant, Associate, and now Senior Associate Dean for the USF Libraries. Currently I provide leadership and support for the management of three departments: Collections & Discovery, Special Collections, and Library Services. Though I started out at USF in public services, my life as a librarian originally began on the technical side; with my current portfolio, I am able to draw from experiences on both "sides" of the library. Before USF, I worked at Furman University in Greenville, SC, but moved to Tampa to be closer to family. (Like most "Floridians," I am not a native; I grew up in Virginia Beach.) I received my BBA in Finance from the College of William and Mary, my MLS from the University of Kentucky, and my M.A. in Spanish from the University of South Florida. Librarianship is such a perfect career for someone with a wide variety of interests!
