LeEtta Schmidt serves as the Associate Director for Broader Impacts, where she leads a series of specialized services dedicated to grant support and enhancing faculty research impact. In her role as the Copyright and Intellectual Property Librarian at USF Libraries’ Special Collections, she provides expert guidance, education, and outreach on copyright and intellectual property matters. Throughout her tenure at USF Libraries, LeEtta has developed extensive expertise in journal editing, interlibrary loan, course reserves, digital collections, oral histories, and archives documentation.
 
LeEtta's dedication to the study of copyright is evidenced by her completion of several certifications, including the Creative Commons Certification for Librarians and Educators, CopyrightX, and Copyright for Educators & Librarians with distinction. She holds a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. Her research interests focus on copyright and associated literacies in higher education, open access, and the interaction of authors with their rights.
