About

Nikhil is a transportation planner with experience working on projects at the interface of research, academia, and industry. As a current Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) - University of South Florida, he works on projects in the areas of automation, big data, transport networks, and travel behavior. His major research expertise centers around the behavioral modeling of emerging vehicle technologies in urban systems. In addition to his extensive experience with autonomous vehicles, Nikhil has also been involved in Florida DOT's initiatives in the fields of logistics and aviation. He possesses excellent data analysis, econometric modeling skills and is an expert in survey design and associated data collection methodologies.

He recently graduated (August 2017) with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from the University of South Florida (USF). Prior to this, Nikhil graduated with an M.S. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from USF (Dec '15), and an MSc. in Transportation Systems from the MIT Portugal Program at IST Lisbon (Jan '13). He also has a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Calicut (May '11).
