Abstract
The collection development librarian for Art & Art History at the University of South Florida created a plan to identify subject areas within the collection that needed to expand and areas where collection building could pause due to budget constraints. The goal was to develop a methodology for assessing the collection in order to guide future expenditures and build a collection of lasting value. This article describes the author’s use of the OCLC WorldCat Collection Analysis tool, faculty surveys, and other strategies to prepare an informed and fiscally responsible plan for collection growth.
