Accomplishing the Goals of Multicultural Teacher Education: How about Transdisciplinarity?

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In this conceptual piece, I propose that the axioms of transdisciplinarity be considered a foundation for the reconceptualization of teacher educators’ and candidates’ approaches to multicultural education. The tenets of transdisciplinarity are positioned as a framework for the transformation of teacher educators’ thinking about diversity. By the same token, the philosophy is applied to teacher candidates’ ways of being, doing, knowing, and living together with others. Implications for classroom teachers’ enactment of instruction are subsequently provided.
