Abstract
This chapter is an excerpt from my published dissertation. In the chapter, I propose a new paradigm for thinking about design: Embodied, Socio-Spatial Design (ESD) generated from a dance perspective. I use a Laban Movement Analysis framework to help flesh out this paradigm and I use these ideas to discuss and analyze a unique prototype wheelchair design for use in dance, with application outside of dance as well.
