Abstract
Puts the evoluton of supranational systems within the context of the entire hierarchy of systems -- materials, biological and sociocultural systems. Expresses concern that network analysts often concentrate so intently on the connections that they fail to see the importance of the "whole" systems at various levels, represented in the article as circles, clusters, equivalences, etc.
