Abstract

This chapter is divided into two sections. The first looks at men in the general population, at a possible explanation as to why they were neglected in the HIV prevention response, at the prevention strategies being rolled out and at possible future developments. The second section focuses on the specific needs of two vulnerable subgroups, mes who have sex with men and transgender people, who are frequently targeted together in prevention programming.
