Abstract
The first study examines the impacts of hurricanes on shoreline change rates in a barrier island environment, and identifi es areas within a National Seashore that may be more vulnerable to future storms than is indicated by the long-term record. The second study is a regional analysis, using the same data sources and types as those used in the fi rst study, but applying them to a statewide analysis of coastal cliff retreat in California.
