Abstract

This article was awarded the John Brubaker Award by the Catholic Library Association. It examines the librarian's individual commitment to the development of equity concerning access to information and to share the word in all its forms. By gaining a heightened awareness regarding issues of information equity and diversity librarians will utilize what we learn to influence social change. The writings of Dorothy Day and daily acts of conscientious service provide illumination of these ideals.
