Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the use of online case studies housed on www.teacherserver.com in a multicultural education course and present the patterns found in student responses to online cases, especially those that generated most reactions from others. Data were collected from 70 graduate students in the form of responses to online case studies or comments on case responses. Our preliminary analysis indicated that most of the case responses that generated comments were culturally sensitive responses. These responses generated mostly agreement or praise types of responses. Case responses that were culturally insensitive generated mostly disagreements and challenges. Implications for practice are discussed.
